Medical laboratories run by the Department include:
  • Hematology & Clinical Pathology Laboratory (CPL)
  • Histopathology Laboratory
  • Cytopathology Laboratory
  • Immunohistochemistry (IHC)
  • Autopsy

National Accreditation Board for Testing and Calibration Laboratory (NABL): Laboratory Services, GMERS Medical College and Hospital, Gotri, Vadodara (LSGMERSMCGV) comprising of Medical Laboratories run by Department of Biochemistry, Microbiology and Pathology, are committed to good laboratory practice. LSGMERSMCGV was awarded Certificate of Accreditation by NABL on 08/09/2021 based on ISO 15189:2012 Standards.

Onsite surveillance was conducted on September 24-25, 2022, first renewal of accreditation in August-September 2023 and desktop surveillance in August 2024.

Blood Centre

History:
  • The License to operate Blood Bank for collection, storage, processing and distribution of whole human blood I.P. (License No. GB/159) was issued on May 5, 2010 by the licensing authority, Food and Control Drugs Administration (FDCA), Gujarat State.
  • Blood Bank was inaugurated on February 24, 2011 offering services to in-hospital patients and patients admitted in Government Hospitals during routine hours.
  • 24-hour services were extended on the occasion of “Voluntary Blood Donation Day” on October 1, 2012.
  • The licence to operate the Blood Bank from the current location on 3rd floor, Block 4 of the Hospital building was procured on May 07, 2015.
  • The license for collection, storage, processing and distribution of additional Blood Components was granted on June 14, 2017.
Hospital Transfusion Committee (HTC): The Hospital Transfusion Committee of GMERS General Hospital, Gotri, Vadodara is committed to delivering high quality care in Transfusion Medicine, through education, developing guidelines and policies, and auditing use of blood. The Committee members include:
