Introduction

The Department of Anaesthesiology at GMERS Medical College, Vadodara is of the busiest department, catering to the anaesthesia management of surgical patients undergoing General surgical, Gastro-intestinal, Orthopaedic, Urological, Opthalmic, ENT surgery, Obstetric and Gynecological surgeries. Super speciality surgeries like Plastic surgery, Neurosurgery, Spine surgery, Vascular surgery are also carried out at our Institute. Apart from the intra-operative management and monitoring, the scope of services includes Pre-anaesthetic check-up and optimization, post-anesthesia care unit, managing the Surgical and Obstetric ICUs on round-the-clock basis, Pain Management, Emergency department and Resuscitation anywhere in the hospital.
Our Faculty and Residents are well versed with using higher end monitoring devices, Fiber-optic bronchoscope and Ultrasound based procedures on a daily basis.

We have a regular teaching schedule and organized formative assessment, which is useful for a thorough training of our Post Graduate students.
