Curriculum planning and implementation: MEU along with Curriculum Committee members developed Community Based Medical Education (CBME) curriculum for undergraduates, and prepared academic calendar, timetable for theory lectures, practical, clinical postings and internship rotational posting. Foundation course, early clinical exposure, Attitude, Ethics and Communication Module (AETCOM), skills laboratory training and student electives were successfully implemented under the guidance of MEU. They also designed UG and PG logbooks.
Education research: 20 educational research projects have been published till the beginning of 2025 including 10 in PubMed indexed journals. 10 poster / paper presentations on educational research projects were presented at State and National Conferences.
Faculty development: MEU of the Institute focusses on training faculty and conducting basic courses in Medical Education and other in-house faculty training programs. Three ‘Basic Course workshops’, three ‘Revised Basic workshop with AETCOM’ and two ‘Curriculum Implementation Support Program (CISP) workshops’ were conducted by the MEU.
