GMERS Medical College, Gotri Vadodara affiliated to ‘The Maharaja Sayajirao University (MSU)’ of Baroda got its first letter of permission for Bachelor in Medicine and Bachelor in Surgery (MBBS) degree on 29/06/2011. The Institute has permission for granting admission to 200 students yearly. It also offers MD / MS Post Graduate courses in various broad specialties, with a total yearly intake of 75 students and 10 seats for Diplomate of National Board (DNM).

Halls

Lecture halls hold a special place in the hearts of students and educators, becoming places of nostalgia over time. The College has five airconditioned lecture theatres/halls (LT) with a seating capacity of 200 for LT 1-4 and 500 for LT-5 . The lecture theatres are well-designed with appropriate seating and acoustics, equipped with e-podium and audio-visual aids to enhance the teaching experience.

Each department has two demonstration rooms and practical classes to facilitate small group learning. The departments also have research laboratories and departmental library.

Dissection hall- Where the Dead teaches the Living!

The Department of Anatomy receives cadavers through it’s ‘Body Donation Program’. One cadaver is allotted to a batch of 20 students. The cadaver is treated with utmost respect and care. The Department and Institute express their deepest gratitude to families for their invaluable contribution. This act of kindness will leave a lasting impact on medical education.

Museum

Museums are vital for medical education and research, preserving rare and illustrative specimens, providing a unique learning experience to medical undergraduates and professionals. The College building houses four museums namely Anatomy, Microbiology, Pathology, and Forensic Medicine and Toxicology.

The Anatomy museum has a collection of more than 200 wet and dry specimens with 50 embryology models. The facility is also used by Physiotherapy, Ayurveda and Nursing college students.

The Microbiology museum showcases models of different viruses, has charts on life cycle of various parasites and their specimen. It exhibits culture media, biochemical reactions and serological tests.

The Pathological museum housing over 200 specimens serves as a permanent learning material for medical undergraduates and postgraduates. The museum illustrates common specimen and specimen of rarity.

The Forensic Medicine and Toxicology Museum provides a unique opportunity to explore the scientific principles behind crime investigation. By examining weapons, poisons, skeletal remains, and injury patterns, visitors gain a deeper understanding of the critical role which forensic medicine plays in the judicial system. Whether you are a student, researcher, or crime enthusiast, this museum offers a fascinating journey into the world of forensic medicine.

Central Library

The library is housed in a ground plus one storeyed building located next to the Girl’s Hostel. It is equipped with over 12,000 National and International books and 150 journals covering all medical subject specialities. The library also has computers and tablets. The library is open from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm Monday to Friday and 9:00 am to 1:00 pm on Saturday. The air-conditioned reading room is open 24×7.

Two books can be issued during working hours upon showing Identity Card for a duration of 15 days. Fine will be levied for delay in returning library books.

Hostels

Hostel living fosters a sense of community, allowing students to build meaningful relationships, learn teamwork and gain emotional support. The Institute has hostels for Girl’s, Boy’s, Interns and Post-Graduate students. Girls and boys can avail facility of reading room of their hostels for distraction-free environment for studying. Girl’s, Boy’s and Interns hostel have in-house mess. The hostels have water purifiers and water coolers.

Recreational Facilities

Recreational activities provide platform to improve physical and mental health. They help reduce stress, increase social connections and give opportunities for leadership and skill development.

Students and faculties use the facilities of table tennis, pool table and carrom available on the first floor of the College building. Indoor gymnasium is located on the first floor of Intern’s hostel and outdoor gymnasium between Intern’s and Resident hostel. Students can use the facility of volley ball court opposite the Boy’s hostel. Yoga classes are conducted in the college porch.

Hobby Clubs

Student clubs are formed around shared interests, hobbies and academic pursuits, offering opportunities for extracurricular activities, developing interpersonal relationship and leadership skills. Meet the Faculty In-charge to join peers with common interests.
