History of the Department

The department of Obstetrics & Gynaecology is started at the inception of the GMERS Hospital & Medical College, Gotri in 2010. To begin with, the hospital has 30 Obstetric beds and 20 Gynecology beds. Within a short span of time, the department has made tremendous progress and has now come up as equivalent premier tertiary care centre in the city of Vadodara. This has been possible through the farsightedness and dedication of all involved personnel. This is one of the fastest growing departments in the GMERS Medical College, Gotri.

Mission of the Department

The mission of the department is to provide outstanding patient care comprising of ethical and standardized clinical practice, advanced technological equipments for diagnosis, care and surgery; and education by training the under graduate students of this college and future doctors of our specialty with sustained interest in academics and research.

Our faculty is committed to the highest level of basic and clinical research in Obstetrics & Gynecology. In particular, we are focused on basic standard care, innovative translational medicine, and amalgamating scientific research in clinical practice.

Our vision is to establish department of Obstetrics & Gynecology in a reasonably short span of time as one of the most authentic and advanced centre for all Obstetrics & Gynecology services in the city of Vadodara.

The department offers a wide scope of services that address every healthcare phase a woman experiences throughout her lifetime – from pre-reproductive care through the childbearing and post-menopausal years.
